【解析】从逐字对译到改写，译者的自由度越来越大，译文在形式上与原文的距离越来越远。
2.“请勿践踏草地”翻译为Please do not step on the grass!是照顾原文的翻译，翻译为Keep off the grass!是照顾译文的翻译。
3.“楼前不准停放车辆”翻译为No Parking in Front of the Building.是照顾原文的翻译；翻译为No Parking.是照顾译文的翻译；
4.“妥善保存，遗失不补”翻译为Please safekeeping.Lose no reissue.(上海某宾馆)是逐字翻译；
翻译为Please keep it safe.No replacement(No replaceable)if lost.大概属于字面翻译；翻译为Please k
eep this voucher in a safe place.It will not be replaced i lost.大概属于传意性翻译。
5.把“歌舞厅”翻译为singer room(三亚某旅店)(注意不是singer)则是乱译(应为song and dance room)。
1.11对中译外水平要有合理期望

【解析】纽马克认为，如果译者认为读者可能会忽视或误解自由女神手中的“剑”，译者应该加一个脚注，首先说明剑的象征意义(侵略性)，然后说明，自由女神手中拿的其实不是一把剑，而是火炬，象征对难民的欢迎。还可以加上有助于读者理解的细节：自由女神雕塑者姓名、雕塑日期、雕塑国家、雕塑原因等。如果该段要改写为新闻，可能需要缩短(删去关于阳光的描写和as though一句)；把“剑”直接改为“火炬”，因为这显然是作者的笔误，一般情况下需要加注。

5.2.2利用Google查专业术语和平行文本
1.翻译“分出公司”、“分入公司”

利用Google来查词时，可以同时输入英文和中文关键词，点击搜索所有网页，可能到英汉对照的词语或相关解释。
在搜索框里输入“再保险分出公司insurance”，便会出现众多的搜索结果，进入其中一条：

分进公司系指接受原保险人(Original Insurer)所分出之业务之保险人，即再保险人(Reinsurer)。
Ceding Company分出公司
分出公司系指依再保险契约之规定，将其所承保之业务分予再保险人(Reinsurer)以获取再保险保障之保险公司，又称原保险人(Original Insurer)、原签单公司(Original Writer)或被再保险人(Reinsured)。
2.翻译“理财”

【解析】输入“理财management”(如果仅输入“理财”，搜索结果中含有英语的很少。可以按照猜测，输
入ma-nagement一词)，发现网页中“理财”有很多种说法，如financial
management，assets management，wealth ma-nagement，personal wealth management。这时，可以把这些说法逐一输入Google，加双引号，检验其出现的上下文是否符合中文的意思。其中，wealth management和personal wealth management 比较符合中文的意思。
3.翻译“毕业证”

【解析】输入“毕业证翻译”，结果太多，逐个检索太慢，这时可以增加一个英语关键词，限定搜索范围，
比如输入“毕业证翻译certificate”，你很快可以到样本。如果想检验样本是否符合规范，可以输入“Let it be known that Mr.”，你会发现很多佐证。如果你知道毕业证书的格式还可以用“This is to certify that”开头，直接用Google搜索这一短语，即可到有关平行文本。
