    My City Shenyang
    Hi friends! Today I want to tell you all about my awesome city Shenyang. It's the biggest city in my province Liaoning in northeast China. Shenyang is an old city with a really cool history!
    A long long time ago, like over 2,000 years back, there was already a small village where Shenyang is now. It got bigger over the centuries. In the 1600s, the Manchu people made Shenyang the capital of their kingdom before conquering the rest of China. So Shenyang was the super important capital city for a while!
    There are still lots of amazing old buildings and palaces left over from when the Manchus r
uled from Shenyang. The Imperial Palace is my favorite - it's huge with hundreds of rooms all decorated beautifully. I went there on a school trip and it felt like traveling back in time to the days of emperors and empresses. So cool!
    Another awesome historic place is the Zhaoling Tomb. This is where one of the first Qing dynasty emperors is buried along with his empress. The tomb mounds are shaped like two humped camels. My dad says that's because camels were very important animals on the Silk Road trading routes that went through Shenyang back then. There are also some tiny little spirit road buildings that are so pretty and intricate.
    But Shenyang isn't just about old history stuff. It's a massive modern city too with over 8 million people living here! The downtown area is full of tall skyscrapers and bright neon lights. My favorite is the iconic Shenyang Globe Gate - it's two huge circular buildings that look like they're the top and bottom of a globe. So futuristic and unique!
    Shenyang has amazing food too. We have lots of different regional Chinese cuisines because people came here from all over in the past. But the most famous is Liao cuisine w
hich originated right here in Shenyang. It uses tons of fresh vegetables and is quite salty and hearty. My number one Liao dish is lu'an guanmendun - that's a chicken, potato and chili stew that is out-of-this-world delicious.
    One more super cool thing about my city is that we have the biggest public square in all of China - Shenyang Middle Street. It's a 1.3 kilometer long pedestrian shopping area lined with stores and snack stalls. At Chinese New Year they have incredible lantern displays and performances there.
    Shenyang gets pretty cold in winter since we're up north, but I don't mind. There's indoor aquariums, arcades, parks and museums to explore when it's freezing out. And the snow is beautiful covering all the old palace roofs in white.3tiles

    My Awesome City - Shenyang!
    Hi there! I'm going to tell you all about my city, Shenyang. It's the coolest place ever and I love living here! Let me start from the beginning.
    Shenyang is a big, big city in the northeastern part of China. It has been around for a really long time – over 2,300 years! Can you believe that? It's one of the oldest cities in my country. A long time ago, it used to be the capital of the Qing Dynasty. That was when emperors ruled China. Pretty neat, huh?
    One of the best things about Shenyang is how much history it has. There are so many awesome old buildings and places to see. My favorite is the Mukden Palace. It's this giant palace complex where the emperors used to live. It has hundreds of rooms and beautiful gardens! I went there on a school trip once and it felt like stepping back in time. The palaces are painted bright colors and the roofs have these cool animal statues on top. I could spend all day just wandering around looking at everything!
    Another place I really like is the Zhongshan Square. It's this big open area right in the middle of the city. There are flower gardens, fountains, and a giant statue of an important guy from history named Dr. Sun Yat-sen. Sometimes they have concerts or events there. But my favorite part is just people watching! You can see folks from all walks of life hanging out, playing games, or just relaxing. It's a great place to spend an afternoon.
    Of course, being a big city, Shenyang also has awesome modern stuff too! We have huge malls with every store you can imagine. My friends and I love going shopping and trying the different restaurants and snack places. The malls have movies theaters, arcades, you name it! There are also tons of parks scattered all around where you can hike, have picnics, or just enjoy being outside.
