Writing an Email to Apply for Training
    Dear Training Company,
My name is Timmy and I'm 10 years old. I really want to take your awesome summer computer coding camp for kids! I think learning how to code video games and apps would be so cool. My parents said I have to write you an email to apply, so here goes!
First off, I should tell you a little bit about myself. I'm in the 4th grade at Oakwood Elementary School. My favorite subjects are math, science, and anything having to do with computers and technology. I'm really good at math - I can do multiplication, division, fractions, you name it! For science, I like experimenting and learning how things work. But my absolute favorite thing is playing on the computer and iPad.
I'm always bugging my parents to let me spend more time on the devices so I can play learning games, watch kid coding tutorials on YouTube, and mess around trying to make my own simple programs and games. My dad installed some coding apps for kids on the iPad and I've been teaching myself little by little. It's so much fun! I can kind of understand the basics of coding languages like Scratch, Python, Java, C++, and more. I'm a fast learner when it comes to computers.
That's why I reeeeeally want to take your computer coding camp over summer break. Can you imagine how awesome it would be to spend two whole weeks just building super cool programs, apps, and games? And getting to learn from expert coding instructors? It would be a dream come true!
I'm sure I'd be a great student in your camp. As I mentioned, I already know a little bit about coding from teaching myself. But I have so much more to learn still. I'm a hard worker, I pay attention really well, I follow directions carefully, and I never give up when things get tough. If there's a coding problem I can't solve right away, I'll study it from every angle until I figure it out. I'm stubborn like that!
Another reason I'd be perfect for your camp is that I'm crazy about computers and technology. I'll never get bored or lose interest. When I'm coding, hours can go by but it only feels like minutes because I'm having so much fun. My parents actually have to force me off the computer sometimes! I get so focused and in the zone. I think that kind of passion and enthusiasm would make me an ideal student.
I also work really well with other kids my age. I'm a great team player who is happy to collaborate on group projects. I can share ideas but also listen to others' perspectives. I'm patient when other kids are still learning concepts I already understand. And I'm always willing to lend a hand if someone gets stuck and needs help. Working together is the best way to create awesome programs!
So in summary, I would love to spend my summer becoming a coding wizard at your camp. It aligns perfectly with my interests, my existing coding knowledge, my determination to learn, my team-working skills, and my ability to have fun while studying hard. I already have big dreams of becoming a professional coder when I grow up and creating the next killer app or video game! Your camp would be a huge step towards that goal.
Thanks for your time in reading my application. I really hope you'll give me a spot in this year's coding camp. It would mean everything to me! I'm available if you need to contact me or my parents for any other information. I'll be waiting by the phone (and computer!) for your response.
    Sincerely,
    Timmy

    Dear Principal Wilson,
My name is Timmy and I'm a 4th grade student at Oakwood Elementary School. I'm writing to you today to request your permission to attend a special writing workshop over the summer. This workshop is being offered by the Young Writers Guild and will help kids like me improve our skills in creative writing, storytelling, and poetry.
You see, ever since I was a little kid, I've loved making up stories and tales. My mom says I came out of the womb full of imagination! I'm always daydreaming about fantasy worlds with brave knights, friendly dragons, or kids who can fly. At night before bed, I'll spend hours thinking up crazy adventures and wild characters. I even have a secret notebook under my bed where I write down all my ideas.
In class, writing is my favorite subject. I love it when Ms. Roberts gives us creative writing prompts and we get to let our minds run wild on the page. Just last week, we had to write a story about what we would do if we woke up with superpowers. I wrote eight pages about gaining the ability to talk to animals and going on an epic quest to save the rainforest from evil lumberjacks! Ms. Roberts said she was really impressed with my vivid descriptions and imaginative plot.
However, I also struggle a bit with writing fundamentals like grammar, punctuation, and organizing my ideas in a clear way. My stories can get a bit jumbled and hard to follow at times. That's why I would love to attend this Young Writers Guild workshop - to get proper training on writing techniques from published authors and professional writing instructors.
