摘要：PURPOSE:To expand the function of an electronic typewriter simply by providing an identifier to an auxiliary storage device and loading a program into a storage device of a main body if it is decided by the identifier that the program is stored in the auxiliary storage device. CONSTITUTION:In applying power, a CPU 1 reads the content of an area 20a at the head one byte of the auxiliary storage device 7, e.g., an IC card into a RAM 6 based on a program stored in a ROM 5 so as to decide whether or not the IC card is to store the program. If the IC card is to store the program, the program is loaded to the RAM 6 depending on the content represented in areas 21, 22 and if no program is stored, nothing is to be loaded. When it is decided that the program is stored, the content itself of the program is programmed so as not to be destructed even if the CPU 1 accesses the IC card 7 for write.
