Unit 5 - Learning About Animals
I was so excited when my teacher Mrs. Peterson told us we were starting a new unit all about animals! I love learning about different creatures and seeing pictures and videos of them.
    First Day
On the first day, Mrs. Peterson had us brainstorm all the animals we already knew about. I put my hand up right away to say "dog" and "cat" because those are the pets I have at home. My friend Jayden knew lots of animal names like "elephant", "giraffe", and "zebra". We made a big list on the whiteboard of all the ones we could think of.
Then Mrs. Peterson showed us some pictures and videos of different habitats around the world - forests, oceans, deserts, grasslands, and more. We got to see the kinds of animals that live in each place. The ocean animals were my favorite, especially the bright colored fish and the huge whales!
For homework, we had to choose an animal we wanted to learn more about and draw a picture of it. I chose a dolphin because they look so friendly and smart.
    Second Day
The next day, we shared our animal drawings with the class. Mrs. Peterson had made a "Guess the Animal" game where we held up our pictures one at a time and the rest of the class had to try and guess what it was just from the drawing.
After that, we learned about categorizing animals into different groups based on what they look like and how they behave. We split up into small teams and got pictures of different creatures. We had to sort them into piles like "mammals", "birds", "reptiles", "amphibians", "fish", and "insects". It was trickier than I thought!
Some animals look really different from others in their same group. Like birds can be tiny and colorful like hummingbirds or huge and plain like ostriches. My team got the hang of it though with some help from Mrs. Peterson.
    Third Day
On the third day, we focused on learning about different animal body parts and their functions. Mrs. Peterson had us play

Unit 5 Lesson Plan: My Day
sort of look atme什么意思    Hello friends! Today we're going to learn all about how to talk about our daily routines and activities in English. Get ready, because this unit is going to be super fun and useful!
First up, we need to learn some new vocabulary words related to different times of the day and common activities. Our teacher wrote these on the board:
    Morning
    Afternoon
    Evening
    Night
    Wake up
    Get dressed
    Eat breakfast/lunch/dinner
    Brush teeth
    Go to school
    Play
    Study
    Do homework
    Watch TV
    Read books
    Go to bed
Wow, that's a lot of new words! But don't worry, we'll practice them through some fun activities.
Our first activity was making daily routine charts. We had to cut out little pictures representing each activity and glue them in the right order on a paper divided into morning, afternoon, evening, and night sections. I put "wake up" and "eat breakfast" in the morning, "go to school" and "eat lunch" in the afternoon, and so on. It was like making a little storyboard of our day!
Next, we played a game called "What Time Is It?" The teacher holding a clock turned the
hands to a certain time, and we had to raise our hands and say an activity we do at that time of day. Like if it showed 7:30 AM, I could say "I wake up and get dressed!" If it was 3:00 PM, someone might say "I eat a snack after school." It really helped us remember when different things happen.
Then we learned how to ask each other questions about our daily routines using "?" and simple present tense verbs. For example:
"What time do you wake up?"
"I wake up at 7 AM."
"What time do you eat lunch?"
"I eat lunch at 12 PM at school."
We practiced asking and answering these kinds of questions in pairs. My partner asked me "What time do you brush your teeth?" and I replied "I brush my teeth at 8 PM before bed."
Verb tenses can be really tricky in English, but our teacher helped us understand when to use simple present for things we do regularly or habits. Since these are activities we do every single day, we use present tense like "I wake up" rather than "I woke up" for past tense.
After practicing conversation, we did a fun craft where we made "Day in the Life" comics showing our routines from wake up to bedtime. We could draw pictures in the boxes and add speech bubbles with basic phrases like "Time for school!" or "I'm hungry!"
