My Big Adventure - Visiting Kids in a Poor Village
I'm so excited, I can hardly sit still! Next week, a group of us students from my school are going on a big adventure. We're going to visit a school in a very poor village up in the mountains. It's so far away that we'll have to take a bus for almost a whole day to get there!
I still remember when my teacher, Mrs. Wang, first told us about this trip. She said there are lots of kids in that village who don't have proper schools or even books and pencils to learn with. Some of them can't even go to school at all because their families need them to work in the fields or take care of younger kids. It made me feel really sad to hear that.
Mrs. Wang asked if any of us would like to go visit those kids and bring them some supplie
s like books, pencils, erasers and other learning materials. We could play games with them, help teach basic lessons, and just be friends. A bunch of us raised our hands right away! I couldn't wait to sign up.
Over the next few weeks, we had regular meetings to plan everything out. First, we made a list of all the supplies we would need to collect through donations. We made cute posters to put up around school asking our families and neighbors for help. My mom bought a whole bunch of new pencils, erasers and coloring books for me to bring.
Next, we split into teams to figure out activities we could do with the village kids. My team is in charge of sports and games. We're bringing jump ropes, balls, and putting together a relay race. I'm so excited to run around and play with the kids! Another team is working on simple math and reading lessons. A third team is even putting together a short play to perform!
We've been practicing everything for weeks now. Just moving around and playing seems simple, but we have to be ready in case the kids don't speak much Chinese. We need to be
able to communicate through gestures and expressions. For the lessons, we're keeping it super basic - just numbers, letters, and easy words to start. The play team has been rehearsing their drama over and over so they can do gestures and movements to get the story across without too many words.
Packing for the trip was crazy! We filled an entire bus storage area with boxed up books, pencils, paper, and other supplies. I carried my backpack loaded up with jump ropes, balls, and snacks to share. We're going to be role models for the village kids, so we worked hard to look our best in fresh, clean uniforms.
Finally the big day arrived! We woke up before dawn and met at school, groggy but thrilled for our adventure. The bus ride seemed to take forever. We sang songs, played road games, and obviously had a few bathroom breaks along the way. When we finally arrived at the village, it was very different from my city home. The houses were small and made of wood. There weren't any paved roads, just dirt paths.
The village school was even smaller than I imagined - just a couple rooms made of bam
boo. But the kids came running out, waving and shouting excitedly to greet us. They looked different than the kids I know, but their smiles and energy were just the same.
We got right to work. First, we put on a little show - the play, some songs, even magic tricks! The kids loved it all. You could see their eyes getting bigger with each new surprise. Then

Organizing a Team to Visit a Poor Village School
Hi there! My name is Emma and I'm a 5th grader at Maple Grove Elementary School. Last year, our teacher Ms. Roberts told us about her visit to a small village school in the mountains during her summer vacation. She showed us photos of the rundown school building, the kids' torn clothes and old books. It made me really sad to see how little they had compared to our nice school with new computers, libraries, playgrounds and sports fields.
Ms. Roberts said the village was pretty

A Team of Dreamers and Doerssort of look atme什么意思
When Ms. Rose announced that our class would form a team to visit a poor village school, my heart raced with excitement! I couldn't wait to raise my hand to be part of this special group. Helping others has always been important to me and my family. My parents taught me that even though we don't have a lot of money, there are always ways we can lend a hand.
The first team meeting was held during recess that Friday. Ms. Rose asked who wanted to be the team leader. I shyly raised my hand, feeling a little nervous. But I really wanted this chance to step up. To my surprise, she picked me! My best friend Jada gave me a big high five.
"Alright Maya, as team leader it's your job to organize everything," Ms. Rose instructed. "
You'll need to put together a plan for what we'll do at the village school."
I nodded eagerly, feeling proud but also a little scared of messing things up. That night, I made a list of all the children's needs I could think of - school supplies, clothes, books, and games. Maybe we could even raise money to get them some basic classroom materials. I decided we'd need a few different crews to cover everything.
The next week, I recruited my team members and appointed crew leaders. Jada would head up the School Supplies Crew to collect pencils, erasers, notebooks and more. Michael agreed to lead the Clothes Crew to gather gently used shirts, pants, dresses and shoes. Samantha would run the Book Buddies to find reading books in good condition. And Marcus would oversee the Game Gamers to collect appropriate toys, puzzles, and outdoor game equipment.
