My Favorite Movie: How to Train Your Dragon3d立体电影
Hi there! I want to tell you all about my very favorite movie, How to Train Your Dragon. It's an animated film made by DreamWorks Animation. The first movie came out in 2010 and there are two sequels after that. I've watched all three movies probably about a hundred times! Okay, maybe not quite that many, but I've definitely seen them a whole lot.
The story takes place in a mythical Viking world. The main character is a young Viking boy named Hiccup. Hiccup is different from all the other Viking kids because he's very skinny and not big and strong like Vikings are supposed to be. All the other kids make fun of him, especially a bully named Snotlout. Hiccup's dad Stoick is the chief of their village, Berk. Stoick thinks Hiccup is a disappointment because he can't fight dragons like everyone else.
You see, in Berk the Vikings are at war with dragons who constantly attack their village to steal their farm animals. The Vikings capture dragons in pens and then young Vikings have t
o fight the dragons as a rite of passage into becoming a full Viking warrior. But Hiccup is just too small and weak to fight the dragons.
One night during a dragon attack, Hiccup shoots down a Night Fury, which is the rarest and most powerful dragon nobody has ever seen before. When Hiccup goes looking for the dragon in the forest, he expects to kill it and finally prove himself to his dad. But instead, he can't bring himself to kill the dragon and frees it instead. The dragon doesn't kill Hiccup either though! Somehow Hiccup and the Night Fury, who he names Toothless, form an unlikely friendship.
Toothless can't fly properly because Hiccup dislodged part of his tail when he shot him down. So Hiccup designs a prosthetic tail fin that allows Toothless to fly again, but only with Hiccup's help controlling it. As Hiccup and Toothless' bond grows stronger, Hiccup starts to realize that everything he knew about dragons was wrong. The dragons were never evil monsters - they were just scared and fighting back to protect themselves!
In dragon training class with the other Viking kids, Hiccup decides not to fight the dragon
s like he's supposed to. Instead, he shows the other kids how to properly interact with the dragons through hand gestures and food. At first the other kids are terrified, but they soon see the dragons aren't dangerous if you don't attack them first. Eventually, all the kids are able to form friendships with the dragons too!
But there's a problem. The dragons keep getting taking away by something bigger and badder. It turns out there is a monstrous dragon creature, called the Red Death, living in the dragons' nest. The Red Death is forcing the dragons to steal food for it against their will! When Stoick finds out Hiccup has been fraternizing with the dragons, he goes crazy and tries to capture Toothless. But Hiccup stops him and finally explains how the dragons aren't bad and the Red Death is the real enemy.
There's an amazing battle at the end where the Vikings team up to fight the Red Death, with the help of the dragons they used to be enemies with. Hiccup does some heroic flying stunts with Toothless to finally defeat the Red Death. After the battle, the Vikings and dragons make peace and live together in harmony on Berk.
The reason I love this movie so much is because of the incredible friendship between Hiccup and Toothless. They became the most unlikely duo and proved that anyone can overcome their fears and accomplish great things. I also love all the dragon characters. Toothless is so cute and funny, but also fierce and loyal. Some of the other dragons have hilarious personalities too, like the Terrible Terrors who are tiny mischievous dragons.
The animation is breathtaking, especially in the flying scenes with Toothless soaring through the sky. I have to watch it again and again because I'm so amazed at the detail in every single shot. The story has so much heart too. It teaches you that you shouldn't judge others who are different before getting to know them. It shows that peace and understanding can come even after years of hatred.
I really connected with Hiccup's character too. Like him, I don't always fit in and do what's expected of me. But Hiccup was brave enough to do what he thought was right, even when everyone else disagreed with him at first. He followed his heart and used his mind to come up with creative solutions. He saw the good in Toothless when everyone else
only saw a monster. I want to have the same kind of courage and free-thinking that Hiccup has.
How to Train Your Dragon is one of those special movies that really means something to me. I never get tired of revisiting the beautiful world of Berk and its dragons. Every time I watch it, I'm reminded about the importance of friendship, preserving our environment, and accepting those who are different from us. This movie has definitely helped shape who I am as a person. That's why it's my all-time favorite!
