三、可数名词的复数形式
一）.可数名词有单数和复数两种形式，以下是复数构成形式的部分规则。
1．一般情况------名词后面加上-s
如map → maps，bag → bags
2．以s，sh，ch，x等结尾的词------加-es
如bus → buses，box → boxes，watch → watches
3．⑴以辅音字母＋y结尾的词------变y为i加-es
如baby → babies，lady → ladies，country → countries
⑵以元音字母＋y结尾的名词变复数时------直接加s变复数
如toy → toys，monkey → monkeys，holiday → holidays
4．以-o结尾的名词变复数时：
⑴加-s的名词有：photo → photos ，piano → pianos，radio → radios，zoo → zoos
⑵加-es的名词有：potato → potatoes ，tomato → tomatoes，hero → heroes，
Negro → Negroes
加-es的记忆口诀：黑人英雄爱吃土豆西红柿。
5. 以f或fe结尾的名词变复数时：
⑴加s的名词有：belief → beliefs，roof → roofs，safe → safes，gulf → gulfs
⑵去掉-f，-fe 加-ves的名词有：half → halves，knife → knives，leaf → leaves，
wolf → wolves，wife → wives，life → lives，thief → thieves 二）.不规则变化
1．改变单数名词中的元音字母；如：man → men，tooth → teeth，foot → feet
2．单复数形式相同；如：fish → fish，sheep → sheep，deer → deer
Chinese → Chinese，Japanese → Japanese
3．其他形式；如：mouse → mice
三）.其他变化
1．某国人变复数：
⑴中国人和日本人不变化
a Chinese → Chinese，a Japanese → Japanese
⑵英国人和法国人man变men
an Englishman → Englishmen，a Frenchman → Frenchmen
⑶其余的在后面加上s即可
a German → Germans，an Australian → Australians，an American → Americans 某国人复数变化口诀：中日不变英法变，其余s加后面。
2．名词修饰名词时，若前面的名词是man，woman，变成复数时，构成复合名词的两个名词全都要变成复数形式
如：man teacher → men teachers，woman doctor → women doctors
3．字母、数字、引语或缩略词的复数形式是在气候加-‘s或-s
如：two f’s 两个f；many VIPs 许多重要人物
